Enlisted in Hull, on 8/12/1916. Served in the Prince of Wales’s Own (West Yorkshire) Regiment, Trb, Northumberland Fusiliers, and Royal Engineers. Posted to France, on 16/3/1917. Wounded severely by gunshot to the buttock and thigh, on 26/4/1917. Discharged on 10/4/1919. Died at Cottingham, on 22/02/1924, aged 49.
