HUSBAND OF EDITH NICHOLSON AT 16, PRYME STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEY HAD ONE SON, ERIC, BORN ON 4 FEB 1913. THEY LIVED THERE WITH HIS UNCLE, GEORGE COOPER.
HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PAL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 13/1221 EYR. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. PROMOTED TO COMPANY SERGEANT MAJOR. HE WAS KILLED ON 23/08/1918, AGED 27. SHOT BY SNIPER WHILE ROUNDING UP PRISONERS. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 03/09/1918. HE IS BURIED ON THE SOMME.
HE IS REMEMBERED ON HIS WIDOW’S GRAVE, AT ST PETER’S CHURCHYARD, ANLABY HULL – Lost his life as Company Sergeant Major of 2nd Battalion King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry during the taking of Herleville. In Loving Memory of my dear husband GEORGE BULLEYMENT, Compy Sergt Major, killed in action in France, August 23rd 1918, aged 27 years. Interred at Harbonnieres. “Thy Will Be Done”
