BORN HULL 7/04/1892. ONLY SON OF WILLIAM JACKSON BYRON (1857-1896) AND EMILY ATKINSON (1861-1950), OF 22, EVANS SQUARE, WALTON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD TWO SISTERS, ELIZABETH AND MARION BYRON.

BEFORE THE WAR HE WAS EMPLOYED AS A BAKER, FOR MR CHANEY, BAKERS, WALTON STREET AND ALSO MR TEANBY, SOUTHCOTHES LANE, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 07/09/1914. SERVED IN FRANCE FROM 07/09/1915. PROMOTED TO COMPANY SERGEANT MAJOR. REPORTED MISSING AT CROISILLES, ON 16/06/1917. HE WAS AGED 25. HIS COMMANDING OFFICER SAID HIS PLATOON “WORSHIPED THE MAN FOR HIS GREAT BRAVERY”.
UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER AND SISTER.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 22ND MARCH 1918, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. * ALSO RECORDED IN THE DE RUVIGNY ROLL OF HONOUR, VOLUME 4.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS, WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER AND SISTER ELIZABETH. HE IS REMEMBERED ON THE FAMILY GRAVE AT HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.
