SS Salmo, built by Caledon Shipbuilding & Engineering Co. Ltd., Dundee in 1900 and owned at the time of her loss by Ellerman’s Wilson Line, Ltd., Hull, was a British steamer of 1721 tons.
On April 7th, 1917, Salmo, on a voyage from Oporto to Liverpool with general cargo, was sunk by the German submarine U-60 (Karl Georg Schuster), 210 miles northwest of Fastnet. 3 persons were lost.
