BORN UPPER HOLLOWAY, MIDDLESEX 1894. SON OF HENRY KILVINGTON CARRICK (1858-1934) AND ALICE VIZOR (1860-1935), OF ISLINGTON, WHO MOVED TO EASINGTON WITH FOUR OF THEIR SIX CHILDREN. ARTHUR WAS UNMARRIED. HE WORKED AS A FARM LABOURER FOR THE GARDENER FAMILY, IN THORNGUMBALD AND IN BURSTWICK. HE MOVED TO HULL AND LIVED AT 3 BANGOR PLACE, WALKER STREET. HIS ARMY RECORDS DESCRIBE HIM AS 5FT 10 INCHES TALL, 180 LBS WITH OF A GOOD PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS ON 30/11/1914. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 13/904, ‘A’ COMPANY, 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, KNOWN AS HULL’S 4TH PALS BATTALION OR “T’OTHERS”. HE SERVED IN EGYPT. TRANSFERRED TO FRANCE ON 29/02/1916. WOUNDED IN THE FACE ON 29/07/1916. HE RETURNED TO HIS UNIT AND WAS KILLED IN ACTION, AT SERRE, ON 13/11/1916, AGED 22. HE IS BURIED AT EUSTON ROAD CEMETERY, COLINCAMPS, FRANCE.
