Caws, Albert John

Born Hull, 1886. Son of James Albert Caws (1864-1942) and Christiana Gardner Bonewell (1854–1925), of 20, Paradise Place, Myton Place, Hull (War Pension address). Eldest son of a Sanitary officer. He had two brothers and two sisters. Worked as a dock Labourer.

Enlisted Alnwick. Served with the 10th Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed in action, on 20/09/1917, aged 31. Commemorated on the Tyne Cot memorial, Belgium.

His army effects were left to his mother, Christina.

His brother, Private, Harry Douglas Caws, 10485, Army Cyclists Corps, was discharged on 11/04/1917 and received a Silver War Badge (No: 156921).
