Born Hull 1884. A former Deck Hand and seaman. Husband of Margaret Ann Clark, of 8, Zetland Street, Hull (War Pension address).

Enlisted in army, on 14/10/1914. Served as Sergeant in the Scots Guards and transferred to the 2/5th Lincolnshire Regiment. Discharged from the army, on 18/07/1916. Awarded Silver Wound Badge (n0: 94630). Died of  Rheumatism, Heart Disease and war related injuries, on 01/12/1921, aged 37.
