BORN HULL 1899. ONLY SON OF ROBERT & MARY ANN CLARK, OF 1, FREEHOLD STREET, HULL (1918 MILITARY VOTERS & WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS FATHER WAS A SEED MERCHANT’S CLERK. HE HAD ONE SISTER, ALICE AND WAS THE GRANDSON OF M. A. EMERY, OF 95 BELVOIR STREET, HULL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY. PRIVATE, 27005, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 35849, 8TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 28/10/1918, AGED 20.
BURIED IN ITALY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “ONLY SON OF ROBERT & MARY CLARK, HULL”

HIS WAR PENSION WENT TO HIS MOTHER, MARY ANN CLARK, AT 1 FREEHOLD STREET, HULL AND THEN TO HIS STEPMOTHER, ADA ISABEL CLARK, AT 125 BEVERLEY ROAD, HULL.
