HE SERVED AS LANCE CORPORAL, 5195, 8TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 13/11/1916, AGED 31.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 23/12/1916, 31/07/1917, & 13/11/1917. HIS WIDOW MARY, RE-MARRIED AND MOVED TO 123, WELBECK STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS)
HE IS BURIED AT SERRE ROAD CEMETERY No.1, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “EVER IN OUR THOUGHTS”.
HE WAS ONE OF THREE SONS KILLED IN THE WAR. PRIVATE, WALTER COGGRAVE, 2ND EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT WAS KILLED AT LOOS, ON 29/09/1915, AGED 23.
