HE ENLISTED IN HULL, DURING SEPTEMBER 1916. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 32982, 8TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION BETWEEN 9TH-13TH APRIL 1917, AGED 28. HE IS BURIED AT TILLOY BRITISH CEMETERY, TILLOY-LES-MOFFLAINES, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 28/04/1917.
HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE BRITISH GAS LIGHT AND COKE COMPANY WAR MEMORIAL, KEPT AT THE FAKENHAM GAS WORKS MUSEUM, NORFOLK.
