HIS NAME IS LISTED ON ST VINCENT’S CHURCH MEMORIAL, QUEENS ROAD, HULL, HE IS BURIED AT LONGUENESSE (ST. OMER) SOUVENIR CEMETERY. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “ONE OF THE BEST HE DIED THAT WE MIGHT LIVE R.I.P.”
Hull Pals Memorial Post. PRIVATE KEVIN BERTRAND VALENTINE COLLINS 22246. Born in Sheffield in October 1890 Kevin was the only child of Thomas and Jane Collins of 164 Blenheim Street, Hull. A Clerk by trade he enlisted at City Hall joining the 12th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment, ‘The Sportsmen’, 3rd Hull Pals. Kevin was seriously wounded in the trenches and evacuated to the hospital centre at St. Omer where he died on 6th October 1916. Kevin Collins is buried in Longuenesse Souvenir Cemetery; he was 26 years old.
