BORN HULL 1889. FOURTH SON OF GEORGE LEONARD CONYERS (1857-1914) AND JANE BRADLEY (1857-1907). ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN. HIS FATHER WAS FOR THIRTY YEARS THE PLUMBER AT BEVERLEY ROAD WORKHOUSE AND DIED IN 1914. THE FAMILY LIVED AT 9, WAINFLEET TERRACE, 95 ,STEPNEY LANE, HULL, AND 6, GRANVILLE VILLAS, SCULCOATES LANE, HULL.
HE WAS EMPLOYED BY HOLMES TANNERY, SCULCOATES LANE HULL. HE WAS A TANNER’S LABOURER FOR FOURTEEN YARS.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A GUNNER IN THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. HE DIED OF WOUNDS ON 13/08/1918, AGED 28. HE IS BURIED IN FRANCES. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HDM 26/08/1918.
HIS NAME IS INSCRIBED ON THE STONE PILLAR WAR MEMORIAL, AT ST MARY’S CHURCH, SCULCOATES LANE, HULL.
