A FORMER SEAMAN AND FLAX SPINNER. HE RESIDED WITH HIS PARENTS AT 32 CANNING STREET, HULL . HE ENLISTED IN HULL, IN OCTOBER 1914. EX 2768 EYR. TRANSFERRED TO THE DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 24/08/191, AGED 20. COMMEMORATED ON THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL. HIS WIDOW FANNY LIVED AT 20 SUBWAY STREET, HULL. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER. AWARDED THE 1915 STAR, BRITISH MEDAL AND VICTORY MEDAL. HE LEFT BROTHERS, HAROLD AND JAMES ALFRED COOK, AND SISTERS, ELSIE AND GLADYS. HIS DEATH AND THIS ADDRESS WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL.
