BORN HULL 26/08/1880. SON OF GEORGE EMMANUEL COOK (1846-1917) AND JANE SANDERSON, OF HULL.
HE MARRIED KATE DANIELS (1883-1905), IN HULL, IN 1901. THEY HAD THREE CHILDREN, LYDIA, GEORGE AND ARTHUR.
HE MARRIED FLORENCE LOUISA LEE (1884-1958) AND HAD ANOTHER SON, THOMAS ANDREW COOK.
HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE, AND WAS SKIPPER OF THE TRAWLER ‘KING EMPEROR’. HE DROWNED THROUGH A COLLISION OFF THE SHEERNESS, ON 04/02/1916, AGED 36. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE CHATHAM NAVAL MEMORIAL AND AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.
HE LEFT £202 IN HIS WILL TO HIS WIDOW, FLORENCE, AT 5, CECIL STREET, HULL (PROBATE ADDRESS).
On February 4th, 1916, the British steamer HMT KING EMPEROR, built in 1914 and operated by British Royal Navy, was lost after a collision. 8 people lost their lives. (The KING EMPEROR was lifted and back in service, even served in WWII.)
