Born 1879. He married Ellen Cross (born 8/12/1885), at Hull, in 1906. Husband of Ellen (Nellie) Cooper, of 20, Tunis Street, Hull (1911 Census) and 5, Melwood Grove, Beverley Road, Hull (War Pension address). They had four children, Joseph Arthur, Lillah and Catherine. he was a Dock labourer.
He served as a Private in the Royal Army Medical corps. Died of Brain Haemorrhage, at Newcastle Military Hospital, on 05/06/1915, aged 36. No CWGC records of his death.
