Born 26th May 1881, Stourmouth, Kent. Son of Charles Culmer (1852-1915) and Emma Beak (1854-1950).
Joined the Royal Navy, on 3 Aug 1897. Worked in Hull as a Dock Gateman.
He married at Hull, in 1905. Husband of Annie Lilian Marshall (1883-1978), of 16, Eastbourne Street, Hull (War Pension address). They had one daughter, Lilian (1911-1974).
Served during the war in the Royal Navy. Last Service was 4th Jun 1921. Died on 26th Jan 1926, aged 44.
His brother, Private, Arthur Thomas Culmer, ^th “Buffs” east Kent Regiment, was killed on 7 Oct 1916, aged 20 and is buried at Bancourt British Cemetery, France.
