BORN HULL 1891. SON OF JOHN WILLIAM DALE & ESTHER AMELIA DALE.
HIS WIFE, EVELINE, LIVED AT 30 , SANDRINGHAM STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).
A FORMER BUTCHERS ASSISTANT (1911 CENSUS). HE WAS WORKING AS A CONDUCTOR, ON THE ANLABY ROAD TRAMWAY. WHEN WAR BEGAN.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL IN DECEMBER 1914. SERVED WITH THE ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS. (TERRITORIAL FORCE). TRAINED AT NEWCASTLE, TYNEMOUTH AND WHITLEY BAY. HE DIED OF PNEUMONIA, PERICARDITIS AND MIDDLE EAR DISEASE (CAUSED BY ACTIVE SERVICE), AT TYNEMOUTH MILITARY HOSPITAL, ON 20/04/1916, AGED 25.
A FUNERAL TOOK PLACE AT ST GEORGES ROAD, PRIMITIVE METHODIST CHURCH, WHERE HE HAD BEEN MARRIED 12 MONTHS BEFORE.
HE IS ALSO COMMEMORATED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.
HE IS BURIED AT HULL WESTERN CEMETERY. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, EVELINE.
