Born Beverley 1891. Son of Samuel George Day (1859-1897) and Sarah Booth (1861-1931). He had four brothers and two sisters. Worked as a Blacksmith and lived with his family at 95 Woodcock Street, Hessle Road, Hull (1911 Census)
he married Margaret Mary McCormick (1891-1961), at Hull in October 1913. Husband of Margaret, at 32, Dee Street, Hessle Road, Hull (War Pension Address). They had three sons and two daughters.
He served as a Sergeant in the Royal Engineers. Awarded the Military Medal, in Mesopotamia. Died at Hull, on 01/11/1929, aged 39
