HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 14/09/1917, AGED 18 YEARS AND 16 DAYS. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 4.5 INCHES TALL, 33 INCH CHEST, 108 LBS WEIGHT, “FAIR” PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 81249, 15TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY ON 04/01/1918. TAKEN PRISONER ON 27/05/1918. DIED IN GERMANY, ON 28/10/1918, AGED 18. HE IS BURIED AT NIEDERZWEHREN CEMETERY, KASSEL, GERMANY.
HE LEFT SISTER IVY, GRANDPARENTS, AUNT ETHEL, JENNIE, UNCLE JIM, & COUSINS FLORRIE & JOHN. HIS FOUR BROTHERS, ALL SERVED DURING THE WAR. ONE OF THEM, SERGEANT, CHARLES DENNISON, QUEENS OWN SURREY REGIMENT, WAS BADLY WOUNDED DURING THE SOMME OFFENSIVE, IN JULY 1916. (HDM 09/08/1916)
