ONE OF SEVEN CHILDREN AND THREE BROTHERS KILLED IN THE WAR. HE ENLISTED IN LONDON. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 12064, 5TH NORTHAMPTONSHIRE REGIMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 31/05/1915. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 08/08/1916, AGED 22. COMMEMORATED ON TH THIEPVAL MEMORIAL. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER, MRS ELLEN JOHNSON. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 7TH MAY 1917, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
