Dixon, Albert Ed

Born Hull, 1892. Son of John William Dixon and Elizabeth Ann Dixon, of 2, Mona Avenue Cave Street, Beverley Road, Hull (1911 Census); 36, Temple Street, Hull (army address) and 4, Poplar Grove, Sculcoates Lane, Hull (War Pension address). He had two sisters and one younger brother, Percy William Dixon.

Married at Hull on 8 April 1912. Husband of Jessie Illingworth, at 4, Poplar Grove, Sculcoates Lane, Hull (Probate address). He worked as a Labourer. Described as 5 foot, 5.5 inches tall, 35-27.5 inch chest,

He enlisted at Hull, on 17 April 1915, aged 22. Served as a Driver, in the 32nd Hull Divisional Ammunition Column, Royal Field Artillery. wounded by shell on 8 Oct 1917. Gassed on 4 April 1918. Discharged with gas poisoning, on 16 Jul 1919. Died on 19/05/1924, aged 32.

He left £53 in his Will, to his widow, Jessie.
