HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER, MRS STEPHENSON AT 57 RARK ROAD, HULL. HE WAS EDUCATED AT HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL. UNMARRIED. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 4 INCHES TALL, 124 LBS WEIGHT, 34-36 INC CHEST, GOOD VISION AND GOOD PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT.
ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 28/02/1916. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 05/07/1916. JOINED THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN THE FIELD, ON 08/09/1916. KILLED IN ACTION AT THE SOMME, ON 14/02/1917, AGED 31. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL.
