Born Norton, Malton, Yorkshire, 5th May 1889. Son of Clifton and Eliza Dixon, of 1, Grove Street, Norton, Malton, Yorkshire.

Married at St Peters Church, Norton, on 21st April 1918. Husband of Mildred Oldfield, of “Westfield House”, Scarborough Road, Norton, Malton, Yorkshire (war pension address).

He was employed as a Draper’s Assistant.

Enlisted in Hull, on 8th Feb 1916. Formerly, Private, 22487, 10th East York Regiment (Hull Commercials). Transferred to the 2nd King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, in April 1918. Killed in action, at Sequehart, on 03/10/1918, aged 29. His details are recorded in the UK, De Ruvigny’s Roll of Honour, 1914-1919
