Enlisted on 25 Aug 1914. Served with the West Yorkshire Regiment.Discharged on 19 Nov 1918. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: B41553). Died at Hull on 17 Jun 1923.

His son, Leading Stoker, Douglas Dobson,Royal Navy, died at sea, on 23/10/1943 during WW2.
