Born Ellerby, Skirlaugh 1896. Son of Ernest and Ann Elizabeth DOUTHWAITE, of 1 Cardigan Avenue, De la Pole Street, Hull. Enlisted Hull 12/04/1915. served with the 5th East Yorkshire Cyclists. Discharged on 26/9/17, with shrapnel wounds to right hip, thigh and foot. His discharge address was 7 Albion Street, Hull. Died of wounds in 1919 and was buried in Hull. Left sister Ida Kathleen Douthwaite.
