Born Amersham, Buckinghamshire, 1884. Son of Thomas Dover and Mrs Fanny Dover (1846-1923), of 23, London Road, Amersham, Bucks (War Pension address). He had joined the army in 1902, aged 18. He was employed at the Gasworks, Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire (1911 Census). he was living in Hull when war began.
He enlisted in Hull. Served as a Driver, with Hull’s, 11th Divisional Ammunition Column, Royal Field Artillery. He was killed in action, on 05/06/1917, aged 33. Buried in Belgium.
His army effects were left to his mother, Fanny.
