Drayton, George Henry

Born Shrewsbury, 1878. Married on 27 May 1902. Husband of Margaret Taylor, at 3 West Dock Villas, West Dock Avenue, Hull (army address) and 66, Walker Street, Hull (War Pension address). They had five children. He was a cycle Engineer and trader. Described as 5 foot, 6.5 inches tall, 34-36.5 inch chest, 122 lbs weight, blue eyes, light brown hair, tattoos on both forearms, Church of England religion “Good” character.

Enlisted in the East Yorkshire regiment, on 01 Sept 1914. Discharged and re-enlisted on 28 July 1915. Posted to India, on 21 Feb 1916. Discharged on 7 Nov 1917. Served for 2 years and 103 days. Awarded the British War Medal and Victory Medal. Admitted to the Asylum for a week, on 12 July 1922. Died on 6 Feb 1923, aged 45.
