HE ENLISTED AS PRIVATE, 3911, 4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. COMMISSIONED TO SECOND LIEUTENANT, IN THE SAME REGIMENT. HE WAS KILLED AT OPPY WOOD ON 03/05/1917, AGED 19. HIS NAMES IS LISTED ON HYMERS COLLEGE MEMORIAL. HE IS BURIED AT ORCHARD DUMP CEMETERY, ARLEUX-EN-GOHELLE, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE
