BORN ST STEPHENS, HULL 1893. SON OF TOM DUNLIN (1868-1923) & AMY BODDY (1871-1946), OF 15 GREGORY’S BUILDING, MOXON STREET. SON OF A DOCK LABOURER. HE HAD THREE BROTHERS AND FIVE SISTERS.

JAMES WORKED AS A LABOURER IN A STARCH MILL. HE MARRIED IN 1917. HIS WIFE ANNIE SALMON LIVED AT 91 , BELVOIR STREET, HULL, IN 1917.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY A PRIVATE IN THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL ARMY MEDICAL CORPS. HE DIED AFTER THE WAR, AGED 26. BURIED HEDON ROAD CEMETERY. HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE HULL BOYS CLUB MEMORIAL BEAN STREET. HIS YOUNGER BROTHER, PRIVAE, TOM DUNLIN, 7TH OXFORD & BUCKS REGIMENT, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, IN SALONIKA ON 09/05/1917, AGED 22.
