MOBILIZED ON 14/08/1917. HE ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 01/04/1918. JOINED THE 7TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION 2 WEEKS LATER, ON 13/04/1918, AGED 18. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY FOR 1 YEAR AND 26 DAYS. HIS BODY WAS NEVER FOUND AND HE IS COMMEMORED ON THE PLOEGSTEERT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM, TO THE MISSING.
