BORN POCKLINGTON 1893. SON OF LUKE AND DARAH EAGAN, OF POCKLINGTON. HE WORKED AS A SUGAR BOILER AT NEEDLERS LTD. MARRIED IN HULL 1914. WIFE BRIDGET ELLEN (MULLINS) LIVED AT 2 ABERDEEN TERRACE, KIMBERLEY STREET, HULL (AS PER CWGC RECORDS). THAY HAD TWO DAUGHTERS, ANN AND MARY.
HE ENLISTED AT HULL, ON 4TH JULY 1916. SERVED IN THE 9TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. REPORTED WOUNDED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL WITH HIS PHOTO ON 19TH MAY 1915. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 14TH MAY 1917, AGED 24. COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL, TO THE MISSING, FRANCE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, BRIDGET ELLEN.
