BORN HULL 1892. SON OF WILLIAM HENRY EASTMAN & ESTHER AKESTER OF 17 , BARMSTON STREET, HULL, . KNOWN AS “HARRY” EASTMAN. ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN. WORKED AS A GLASS BOTTLE MAKER, AT POULSONS & CO, CUMBERLAND STREET, HULL. A WELL KNOWN FOOTBALLER, HE WAS CAPTAIN OF THE EAST CENTRAL TEAM.
HE ENLISTED AT HULL IN AUGUST 1914. SERVED WITHTHE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE WAS KILLED, ON 05/11/1916, AGED 24, WITH PTE, THOMAS DAVIS.
HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE RETURNED TO HIS FATHER. WILLIAM EASTMAN. HE IS COMMEMORATED AT THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING.
HIS BROTHER, GEORGE EASTMAN ALSO SERVED WITH THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HDM 01/12/1916*
