George Eliasson was born in 1887 in Hull. He had two sisters Magdalene and Matilda (my great grandmother). Incidentally his parents were Scandanavian. His father Elias was from Sweden and his mother Alma Knudson was from Norway. George Eliasson was born Odin Eliasson, he changed his name to George when he joined up….probably thought he’d get less hassle this way. His medal roll shows he was awarded all 3 campaign medals for WW1. 1914-15 star, the War Medal and Victory. (Thank You to Laird Karensky for sharing this information and photograph on 11/08/2016)
