BORN HULL 1889. SON OF WILLIAM J & GRACE ELLIS. WIFE ANNIE ELLIS. SHIP’S COOK ON THE ‘SEBASTIAN’. LOST AT SEA ON 22/05/1915, WITH ALL NINE CREW. HIS NAME IS RECORDED IN THE LOST TRAWLERMAN OF HULL RECORDS.
On May 22nd, 1915, the British steel trawler SEBASTIAN left Hull, and went missing. She was not heard of ever since. All nine crew are commemorated on the Tower Hill Naval Memorial, London.
