Born Beverley 1900. Second son of Richard Charles English (1873-1939) and Ada Burks Aylett (1873-1953), of Beckside, Beverley, Yorks. Aon of a Tanner’s Labourer. He had two brothers and three sisters.
Enlisted at Beverley. Formerly 54842, East Yorkshire Regiment. Transferred to the 20th Manchester Regiment. Killed in action, on 23/10/1918, aged 19. Buried France.
His army effects were left to his father, Richard.
