A Professional Soldier when war began. He served in India and had a Campaign medal. He was posted to France with the 1st West Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales’s Own). Killed in action, on 20/09/1914, aged 26.
His younger brother, Archie Etherington (1891-1938) served in the Army Service Corps (Mechanical Transport) from this address.
