BORN HULL 1892. SON OF THOMAS & LUCY ANN EVERITT, OF 24, PENNINGTON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). BEFORE THE WAR, HE WAS IN PARTNERSHIP, WITH MR ROBERT HOBSON, COAL DEALERS, AND WAS WELL KNOWN IN HULL SHIPPING CIRCLES.
HE PLAYED FOR THE OLD QUEENS HALL, FOOTBALL TEAM AND HAD SIX MORE BROTHERS SERVING.
HE ENLISTED IN THE 1/5TH EAST YORKSHIRE CYCLISTS. TRANSFERRED TO THE 7TH YORK AND LANCASTER REGIMENT. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 07/09/1917, AGED 25. COMMEMORATED ON THE YPRES MENIN GATE MEMORIAL, BELGIUM.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON ST MARY’S CHURCH MEMORIAL, LOWGATE, HULL.
OF HIS SIX BROTHERS, ONE WAS WOUNDED AND TWO DISCHARGED FROM THE ARMY WITH WOUNDS. THREE OF THE BROTHERS JOINED THE COLOURS TOGETHER. (HULL DAILY MAIL – 21/09/1917)
