BORN HULL 16/09/1868. SON OF CHARLES ROBERT FELLOWES AND HANNAH OSBOURN. EDUCATED AT CONSTABLE STREET SCHOOL, HULL. HE JOINED THE MERCHANT NAVY, ON 25/12/1886. SERVED ON THE WILSON LINE FOR 30 YEARS. HE MARRIED AT ST JAMES CHURCH, HULL, ON 07/01/1891. HIS WIFE KATE (CUTSWORTH) & 3 CHILDREN LIVED AT 102 , REGENT STREET, HULL.
HE WAS POSTED TO THE CARGO SHIP ‘HARROGATE’. SERVED AS CHIEF ENGINEER, ON THE OUTBREAK OF WAR. EMPLOYED ON A NUMBER OF SPECIAL SERVICES. THE SHIP WAS SUNK 80 MILES OF THE NORWEGIAN COAST, ON 20/02/1918. IT WAS ON A VOYAGE FROM HULL TO BERGEN, CARRYING A CARGO OF COKE. HE DROWNED, AGED 50. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND CHILDREN, ERNEST FRANK AND ELSIE.
HIS DEATH & ADDRESS WERE REPORTED IN HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 20/02/1919.
HE IS RECORDED IN THE DE RUVIGNY ROLL OF HONOUR, VOLUME 4, AND ON ST MATTHEWS CHURCH, WW1 MEMORIAL, BOULEVARD, HULL.
