Fenton, Robert

Born Hull 1896. Son of Robert Fenton (1866-1919) and Sarah Wilkinson Sheard (1866-1943), of 43, Somerscales Street, Beverley Road, Hull (war Pension address). He had three brothers and two sisters, living at 10, Ribble Avenue, Hull and working as a Starch, Packing Case Maker (1911 Census). Described as 5’3½, 36″ chest, 119lbs, fair physical development., character very good, Medical category A1.

Enlisted at Hull, on 13/11/1915. Served in the East Riding Yeomanry. Transferred as Private, 1/4th King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, on 09/12/1916. Gassed on 22/07/1917. Discharged 10/04/1919. Died of Pneumonia and Pleurisy, on 13/09/1921, aged 29.
