BORN HULL 1890. ONLY SON OF JOHN FISH (1847-1927) AND SARAH ANN DAWSON (1850-1913), OF 44, HIGH STREET, AND 39, RYDE STREET, HULL. A SHIPPING CLERK.

HE MARRIED IN 1917. HIS WIFE, KATE “KITY” JENNESON, LIVED AT 15 HARLEY STREET, HULL. (CWGC ADDRESS) AND 7, ELDEN AVENUE, ABBEY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN THE 10TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT (1ST HULL PALS) EX 1041, EYR. TRANSFERRED TO THE 49TH INFANTRY BATTALION, MACHINE GUN CORPS. PROMOTED TO SERGEANT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 08/03/1918, AGED 28. HE LEFT A WIDOW AND FIVE SISTERS, MARY, ALICE LOUISA, SARAH ANN, RUTH AND JEANETTE.
HE IS BURIED AT POLYGON WOOD CEMETERY, IN BELGIUM. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “FONDLY REMEMBERED IN THE HOMELAND”.
