Born Hull, 1886. Son of John Samuel Fitzgerald (1860-1932) and Elizabeth Ann Burton (1868-1947).
He was a Fish Worker. Married at Hull, in 1906 aged 19. Husband of Ethel Mary Batty (1888-1920), of 6, Ash Grove, Brighton Street, Hull (War Pension address). They had three children.
Enlisted 27 March 1915. Served overseas as a Gunner, in the Durham Royal Garrison Artillery. Discharged 15 Feb 1919. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: B342528). Died of an accidental injury to his right toe, on 25 Sep 1920. His widow also died in 1920.
