BORN BEVERLEY 23/08/1896. SON OF ALBERT EDWARD FOX & MARIA STEPHENSON, OF 15 PRIORY ROAD AND ST ANDREWS STREET, BEVERLEY. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. THIS WAS HIS NAVAL RECORDS ADDRESS. HE JOINED THE ROYAL NAVY IN 1912. SERVED AS ABLE SEAMAN, ON THE HMS “QUEEN MARY”. HIS PHOTO WAS PRINTED IN THE BEVERLEY GUARDIAN WITH THREE OTHER BEVERLEY SAILORS LOST AT JUTLAND.
HIS BROTHER, LANCE CORPORAL, JAMES ALBERT FOX, 1/5TH YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 26/12/1917, AGED 24 AND IS BURIED AT TYNE COT CEMETERY.
