HE WAS ONE OF FOUR BROTHERS. ENLISTED IN HULL. WAS A REGULAR SOLDIER, SERVING WITH THE 2ND EYR AT THE OUTBREAK OF WAR. ACTING CORPORAL. KILLED IN ACTION ON 5TH MAY 1915, AGED 25. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WENT TO HIS MOTHER, SARAH. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES ON THE 15TH MAY 1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH, AND IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 29TH MAY 1915. *
