WORKED AS A GROOM AND RULLEYMAN. EMPLOYED BY MESSRS, ROBINSON & SONS, UNDERTAKERS, WHERE HE WORKED IN THE LIVERY STABLES. LODGED AT 3, DURHAM ROW. DURHAM STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS).

HE MARRIED AT THE HARLEY STREET, REGISTRY OFFICE, HULL, ON  11/05/1915. HIS WIFE, FLORENCE MARY ANN LINDER (1894-1983), LIVED AT 33, MIDLAND STREET, HULL, AND 31, BROOK STREET, HULL (HIS ARMY ADDRESS) AND 1, EMILY’S TERRACE, STRICKLAND STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 11/12/1915. MOBILISED ON 10/04/1916. ARRIVED FRANCE, 13/07/1916. SERVING WITH THE 7TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. WOUNDED IN THE SHOULDER ON 03/04/1917. WOUNDED BY GUNSHOT IN THE RIGHT THIGH ON 12/05/1917. DIED OF WOUNDS, O4/06/1918, AGED 27. HE IS BURIED AT ST SEVER MILITARY CEMETERY, FRANCE.
