HE WAS EMPLOYED IN CIVILIAN LIFE AS A TIMBER MAN AT HULL CUSTOMS AND BEFORE THAT WORKED FOR EARLE’S SHIP BUILDERS. HE WAS A REGULAR MEMBER OF THE WESLEYAN CHURCH. HE WENT OUT WITH THE 4TH EYR FROM NEWCASTLE. DIED OF WOUNDS, AGED 22. HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH ARE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 11TH AUGUST 1915. *
