BORN CAPE COLONY, SOUTH AFRICA, 16/03/1898. SON OF FRANCIS JAMES GIBSON (1872-1913) & ELIZABETH MACDONALD (1876-1951), OF 25 DUESBURY STREET, HULL. HIS PARENTS WERE BOTH BORN IN CAPE COLONY. HE HAD ONE BROTHER, HAROLD AND ONE SISTER, THELMA.

HE LEFT CAPE COLONY, SOUTH AFRICA TO ENLIST AND ARRIVED IN ENGLAND ON 22ND APRIL 1917.

HE ENLISTED ON 15TH MARCH 1918. SERVED WITH THE 51ST TRAINING DEPOT, ROYAL AIR FORCE. DIED ON 09/11/1918, AGED 20 AT

(Died at Hawarden, Flintshire, Wales. Killed while flying a Sopwith Camel. Believed to have fainted. Dived into ground. (From St Michaels Church newsletter dated Aug 2012)
