Vincent Graham

BORN ARMAGH, NORTHERN IRELAND, ON 05/01/1878. SON OF THE LATE CHARLES GRAHAM AND ELIZABETH DALEY. A FORMER BRASS MOULDER. HE WAS KNOWN AS “BERT”.

HE MARRIED IN GLASGOW, ON 8/08/1899. HIS WIFE, ALICE FERRIE (BORN 1 JAN 1879) & TEN CHILDREN, LIVED AT 12 BUCKINGHAM TERRACE, ADELAIDE STREET, HULL AND 5 WILLIAM TERRACE, CAMPBELL STREET, HULL. HE WAS WORKING AS AN AGENT FOR THE SINGER SEWING MACHINE COMPANY, WHEN WAR BEGAN.

HE ENLISTED HULL. SERVED WITH THE 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS. HE WAS KILLED AT THE DARDENELLES, AGED 37. HIS BODY WAS NOT RECOVERED AND HE IS COMMEMORATED AT HELLES.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW ALICE AND FIVE DEPENDENT CHILDREN (CHARLES, MARGARET, VINCENT, ELIZABETH AND LAVINIA MARY) AT 12, BUCKINGHAM TERRACE, ADELAIDE STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SHE RECEIVED A WEEKLY WAR  PENSION OF 27 SHILLINGS FROM 17 APRIL 1916.

HIS DEATH AND PHOTOGRAPH ARE REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 22ND NOVEMBER 1915 AND THE 8TH AUGUST 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
