EMPLOYED AS A LABOURER. HE ENLISTED AT HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 21248, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE MACHINE GUN CORPS. DIED FROM PNEUMONIA, AT HOME, 03/04/1916, AGED 28. BURIED HULL WESTERN CEMETERY, PLOT 474. 45779. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER.
HIS NAME IS INSCRIBED ON THE STONE PILLAR MEMORIAL, ST MARYS CHURCH, SCULCOATES LANE, HULL.
