Born 1st March 1889 Hull. Son of William and Mary Gray, at 59, Gordon street, Hull (1911 census). He had an elder brother and sister. Worked as a Cycle Dealer and Motor driver. Described as 5 foot, 11 inches tall, 34 inch chest, brown eyes and dark brown hair. He had prior military service.
Enlisted on 4th November 1914. Served in the Royal Navy, HMS “President”. Died of Influenza, on 30/10/1918, aged 29. There ar no CWGC records.
