DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 4 INCHES TALL, 35-37 INCH CHEST, BLUE EYES, BLACK HAIR, CHURCH OF ENGLAND RELIGION. HE ENLISTED AT EDMONTON, INTO THE 10TH CANADIAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE, ON 02/07/1915. WOUNDED IN THE LEFT ARM, ON 02/10/1916 AND SHOULDER ON 08/11/1916. SPENT SOME TIME AT THE HULL NAVAL HOSPITAL WITH INFLUENZA. POSTED BACK TO THE FRONT ON 12/01/1917. KILLED IN ACTION AT HILL 70, ON 15/08/1917, AGED 25.
HIS NEXT OF KIN, WAS HIS SISTER, MAUD, WHO LIVED 18 MAPLE STREET, QUEENS ROAD AND THE WINDMILL HOTEL, WITHAM. HE WAS A SINGLE MAN. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 04/09/1917
